As you may have read in the Sunday Mirror, last week we had the privilege of welcoming our Patron Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith from Downton Abbey) to Haiti. It’s been an incredible week, and we are deeply thankful for Laura’s heart to come to Haiti and support this work.
Touched by the reality in Haiti, Laura has been passionately getting behind our new Christmas Campaign which we’ve just launched, called – A Royal Birth. Laura and HHA are looking for 1,000 individuals, schools, churches or groups to get behind this campaign and commit to raising £200 each (or more if they can.). If we could achieve this, we’d be able to keep our Maternity and Paediatric Unit open for another year, which is currently under threat of significant cut backs due to the economic climate. You can read Carwyn and Reninca’s latest blog to understand just how critical these services are.
Please get behind this campaign today and visit www.aroyalbirth.org to see how you can get involved.
We’ll have some more news and updates on Laura’s trip soon, including some exclusive photos and thoughts so pop back soon! But for now, please watch Laura explain why this work is so important in the video below, and visit our Royal Birth site.
